Being a fiancé has been a complete blur of so many wonderful things. Today marks one month since me and my sweet beau got engaged. It flew by with a blink of an eye and there are still people who approach us with the most warm greetings of excitement and anticipation for our wedding.
This past month has been a whirlwind of the first planning stages of our wedding. I have made a few decisions, one of which is that I am 100% anti-bridezilla! Nobody wants to be a part of a wedding where their is a angry tyrant woman who has unrealistic expectations of her friends and family. David and I have a vision for our day that does not include stress or anxiety and I will not be the person that ruins that picture.
We have crossed some very crucial things off our to-do list. The first thing we did was look at ceremony and reception venues (and to be honest, we had looked around before we got engaged so we had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for). When we found the two that were more than completely perfect we booked them! In doing so, we set the date, June 16, 2013 (the countdown begins!). Our ceremony will be at Fort Gibraltar and our reception will be at Pineridge Hollow.
David and I started working on a wedding website and we also set up a wedding email account which is a fantastic way to keep all of your wedding information in a separate place.
To all of you bride-to-be’s who feel overwhelmed even at the beginning of your planning, I would strongly recommend printing off a monthly to-do list. It will give you a wonderful step by step guide and will take the pressure of off remembering everything yourself.
Another wonderfully amazing thing that happened this week was that our engagement/proposal was featured on Style Me Pretty! We really felt like the luckiest people in the world and I encourage you to follow this link to see the photos and read our story. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking of it!
Planning our wedding has been wonderful so far and I look forward to keeping you updated on all of the things we are doing to make our day come together!
Happy Planning!
Tessa
